During the past meeting Dennis O’Brian from the Monroe County Young Democrats along with Carrie Andrews who serves district 21 in the Monroe County Legislature came to discuss with the club local campaign opportunities in this upcoming election. Ms. Andrews stressed to us the importance of our help in these local elections because the little that we can do can impact the candidates far more. Some races she mentioned that we could help out on are Ted Nixon in Pittsford and Vinnie Esposito in Irondequoit, as well as campaigns in Webster, Parma, and Greece. Chuck Schumer will be speaking in Rochester on this coming up Tuesday, they are looking for volunteers to man the front table, in return there will be free food. They would like volunteers there by 4:30. Event contact is Tad Mack: 585-613-5536.
We were also requested to help out with another campaign by doing lit drops and sign waving in Fairport for Craig DeLancey who is running for Village Board. Information about him can be found at http://www.futureoffairport.org/
The club also started presenting on the presidential candidates. Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Bill Richardson and Dennis Kucinich. And are looking forward to presentations on the rest of the democratic candidates next week and the republican candidates in the future.
